Dr Joe Cain is a senior lecturer and historian of science at University College London. He is also a movie buff, and regularly dips into his dusty cinematic treasure vault to retrieve old sci-fi gems for his after-hours Film Night series in the Darwin Lecture Theatre, UCL.
Previous screenings include The Lost World (1960), The Wolf Man (1941), Sanders of the River (1935), and most recently, The War of the Worlds (1953), held on 3rd October.
The next film is The Blob (1935), on 6th December 2011 at 6:30pm.
Film Nights are free and open to the public, with no advance booking required. Each film is preceded by an entertaining mini-lecture lasting about 30 minutes, and followed by a glass of wine at the Grant Museum of Zoology, below.
